ADAPT shortlisted for Technology Ireland Software Awards
ADAPT have been shortlisted for the Technology Ireland Software Industry Awards 2017 for their work on Street View Object Mapping. The project nominated under the Outstanding Academic Achievement of the Year category relates to work carried out by researchers Prof Rozenn Dayhot and and DR Eamonn Kenny, from the School of Computer Science and Statistics in Trinity College Dublin to identify and assign a GPS tag to network assets discovered in Google Street View imagery. The ADAPT solution to the problem is a computationally fast and fully automated pipeline for asset discovery in a specified geographic area from Google Street View imagery. The system was trained on thousands of images to segment the object of interest in a Google Street View image and uses multiple camera positions to accurately tag the object.
