Professor Joeran Beel was appointed as Visiting Professor at the National Institute of Informatics (NII), effective 1st April 2018 for the forthcoming four years. Joeran is very grateful for the generous support of the NII, and he is looking forward to visiting the NII approximately once or twice a year for a few weeks to collaborate on research relating to recommender systems, machine learning, natural language processing and our other research areas. He has been working closely together with the NII in Tokyo for quite a while, in particular with the Digital Content and Media Division and Prof Dr Akiko Aizawa.
