Talent Acquisition and Internships Breakfast Seminar2019 May 1
Talent Acquisition and Internships was the topic of the first of the School's Business breakfast seminar series held in April.
The event provided an opportunity to network and work towards‘best practice internship models in industry'. Three speakers gave their insights on their internship experience.
Helene McArdle from Workday looked at the employer's perspective, the role of internships in recruitment as well as providing mentorship opportunities for staff.
Dr. Gerry Lacey represented the academy perspective, reviewing the different models of internships, how Trinity offers support as part of the formal curriculum and why it is necessary to develop partnerships with industry and build employability into the curriculum.
Finally, Scarlett Gourley gave the a recent graduate's perspective, how her internships impacted her career choices and led her to her current role. The seminar was well received and served both to raise the profile of the School as well as strengthen industry relations.
